Time to Train
Why it matters
Time to Train is a Staffing metric which examines how long it takes for you to upskill a new recruit with the abilities to fulfil their required daily functions for their job role. A low Time to Train is desired and effective educational materials and training programs should be invested in if this figure is obscenely large. This is both to prevent a barrier which would hinder workplace efficiency – as every trainee is (usually) a cost that is being paid for that is yet to deliver on the time and monetary investment made – and to minimise the impact of Staff loss. If the time it takes for you to train new employees is great and a Staff exit was to occur which would require you to fill a position, then you could find yourself exposed.
