Unbillable Time

As the name implies, Unbillable Time is the number of hours which were worked on a project, which were not billed for to the client. As Staff will typically be paid regardless, Unbillable Time eats into Profits and thus should be reduced as much as possible

Making the KPI

Step One

You can display Unbillable Time, by collating together the number of unbilled hours which have been spent on a project or by importing the total number of project hours and the billed for number of project hours, and then subtracting the former by the latter. Choosing the latter option would be more efficient if you wish to create other related time-based KPIs. We’ve done this in the below example and split out our Child field by Project:

Step Two

This allows us to view Unbillable Time broken down by project by subtracting the Hours Worked on each project by the Hours Billed.

Step Three

We can then enjoy the results.
