Average Milk Yield is a key performance metric within the Dairy Farming Industry due to the correlation, which exists between yield, production and revenue. A higher milk yield is most certainly desired – the more milk you can produce the more milk you can sell.

Making the KPI

Step One

To calculate Average Milk Yield, you will need to know:

  1. Total Milk yield
  2. Numeber of Milking Cows

Step Two

Once you have all of the necessary data, you can calculate Average Milk Yield by dividing Milk Yield by your total Number of Milking Cows
