Staff Turnover

Why it’s important

Staff Turnover is a metric which measures the number of employees who have joined or departed a company within a particular reporting period. A high Staff Turnover under normal operating conditions may indicate an underlying problem with staff retention.

How to create it 

Step One

To create our metric in FUTRLI we’ll need to know:

  1. Number of Employees this period
  2. Number of Employees last period

Number of Employees is a non-financial metric which will need to be imported into FUTRLI via CSV. If the company the report is being created for operates over numerous locations, you can use the Non-financial Child field to differentiate between staff numbers at each location, as in the example below:

Step Two

Once you’ve imported your data into FUTRLI, you can express Staff Turnover by subtracting the number of Staff overall or at a location this period, by the number of Staff overall or a location, last period. The latter can be selected using period offset.
